Description
Delonix regia is native to the dry, deciduous forests of Madagascar where it is endangered. It is a member of the Fabaceae, sub family Caesalpiniodeae. It is grown widely in all subtropical and tropical regions of the world and Brisbane becomes a patchwork of red in December. This tree spread over our entire backyard and provides very welcome shade. The colours in this image are true and have not been saturated.

Thanks Lianne. I hesitated uploading this as it looks oversaturated but it is exactly like that.

Thanks Byron. The winter sound harsh..can't even imagine. The tree is still a huge red canopy, the ground is red with fallen flowers, there is a constant humming of bees and screaming of rainbow lorikeets. Sometimes you stand in the back yard and you feel the world is red.

Thank you George...look longingly at all the moody misty photos but I guess I just have to work with what I've got.
