Very nice angle and overall composition!

Denise Clark replied:

Strange thing. I really hated crater glazes when I was a potter but as a photographer ...a different perspective...life's strange. Appreciate your support.

Lovely work. (I've been thinking of buying a fig tree for our house. They are supposed to be wonderful air cleansers!!) F/L++

Artist's Description

This large ceramic planter (it had a fig tree in it) was glazed with a white crater glaze which looked stunning against the blue wall behind it. I also like the red on the interior lip.

"Crater glazes are generally produced by adding compounds to the glaze which will liberate gases during the firing cycle. As the volatile gases strive to reach the surface of the glaze, they tend to form bubbles which break through the surface and pop, leaving craterlike cavities in the glaze. " The Potter's Complete Book of Clay and Glazes by James Chappell

Twenty Percent of all sales will be donated to either Bush Heritage or Rainforest Rescue.
