Thanks Marie. Although I know corrugated iron is universal, there is always something very Australian about it to me...I know I love the sound of rain on it and would miss my possum friends pounding across it every night. I appreciate your comment very much.

Artist's Description

Cooking demonstration at a Government run showcase of regional Queensland. A cooking bench with a front patchwork of small pieces of corrugated iron in various stages of corrosion...The Birdsville stage would you believe...Birdsville is about as far South West as you can go in Queensland without ending up in the Northern Territory or South Australia ..I don't know if it was a good image or not but I couldn't wait for the demo. to finish so I could take some photos. Actually looking at this now, the colour of the rust is the colour of the land out there and Birdsville lies at the edge of the Simpson Desert which is famous for its red sand dunes...so perhaps the corrugations are symbolic.

Twenty Percent of all sales will be donated to either Rainforest Rescue or Bush Heritage.

"THE VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY IS NOT IN SEEKING NEW LANDSCAPES BUT IN HAVING NEW EYES' MARCEL PROUST,AUTHOR, and this quote could be my personal mantra.... "I...
