Artist's Description

This tree was widely used as a street tree in Brisbane. It is a native of Brazil and Bolivia. The wood is often used for making fingerboards for electric basses and guitars. It has a similar feel and similar tonal attributes to rosewood, but is harder and has a slightly lighter colour. The wood may also be used for flooring, fancy furniture, hand gun grips.
They line a street near where I live and I was blown away by the different colours of the new bark being revealed...each tree was different.

"THE VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY IS NOT IN SEEKING NEW LANDSCAPES BUT IN HAVING NEW EYES' MARCEL PROUST,AUTHOR, and this quote could be my personal mantra.... "I...
