Description
I have often admired the light photography in big cities, but when I looked across the valley in the middle of the night and saw most of the house light were off leaving only street lights of various colours, I realised that the areas in between made excellent negative space and the trees and ambient light of street lighting close to home gave texture not obtainable in the city context. I also read the suggestion in Rick Doble's book on experimental photography that noise could be legitimately used as texture and embraced that concept....and lightened the image slightly to enhance the different textures. All other effects are achieved with slow shutter speed and camera movement.
