Description
Caesalpinia ferrea, commonly known as pau ferro,Brazilian ironwood or leopard tree is a tree found in Brazil and Bolivia. Its wood is often used for making fingerboards for electric basses and guitars. It has a similar feel and similar tonal attributes to rosewood, but is harder and has a slightly lighter colour. The wood may also be used for flooring, fancy furniture, and handgun grips. It has been used to line some streets in our suburb and I am always fascinated by the variety of colours and textures.
Twenty Percent of all sales will be donated to Rainforest Rescue or Bush Heritage both of which organisation do invaluable work for the environment.

I am so pleased you like this one Michael. I went back to my file and I don't think I flipped it upside down...I would have to have a good composition reason to do so and I really don't. I tend to crop more for that. Having said this, for some reason I like verticals....so take a lot of verticals and they show up on my camera as horizontal shots and I have to flip. Yes I have been told I can set the camera differently but...it was don't confuse me..go away. I have rearranged my nature abstract gallery so all the Leopard Tree shots are together...and still can't see it. What makes you think I have it upside down? I would really like to know. Thanks for your comment and interest Cheers.
