Description
Caesalpinia ferrea, commonly known as pau fero,Brazillian ironwood or leopard tree, is a tree found in Brazil and Bolivia. It is often used for making fingerboards for electric basses and guitars, It has similar feel and similar tonal attributes to rosewood, but is harder and has a slighhtly lighter colour. The wood may also used for flooring, fancy furniture, and handgun grips.
Leopard Tree Bark Abstracts 1,2,and 3 seemed to hang together for me. Leopard Tree Bark Abstract 4 and 5 both seem to be more individual although I don't think they are any less for that. I photographed them up our road where they have been used as street trees.
Twenty Percent of all sales will be donated to either Rainforest Rescue or Bush Heritage...both of which organisations do invaluable work for the environment.
