Description
Taken in the Southbank Parklands in Brisbane. There is a sign which appears on the counter of a food outlet "Be Cautious of the Ibis Bird". It made me smile as the way it was worded made me think of Alice in Wonderland. It was rather apt in this case as the ibis had just had a very loud argument with two crows about siting on the awning rights and the ibis won. I was surprised...he looks a bit smug.
Ibises appeared in Brisbane a couple of decades ago during a drought, found the life cushy and never left. They are a bit of a problem. Bins have had to be designed to keep them out. I kinds of like them. I admire their resilience and bravery.
