Seeing this changed my mind about these trees. I had a love hate relationship with them because of allergies hence my little poem in the description. Thank you so much for your comment Kalpana.

Artist's Description

Ivory Curl Trees line the street near us and are out in flower just now. This is where a branch was cut off that could have protruded into the street...healed but obvious.

THE TREE
The branch cut,eye revealed,
Seeing the melting tarmac and concrete trapping its roots.
Flower laden branches drooping in the summer heat.
An old woman stops and strokes the trunk and sees the watching eye.
The tree stirs and listens to the bees
Sends honeyed perfume to drown traffic fumes.
Tonight birds will come, then possums and flying foxes.
Coolness will stir its leaves and it will dream of the rainforest where its ancestors lived..

ART DOES NOT REPRODUCE THE VISIBLE, IT MAKES VISIBLE'. PAUL KLEE, PAINTER. "THE VOYAGE OF DISCOVERY IS NOT IN SEEKING NEW LANDSCAPES BUT IN HAVING NEW EYES' MARCEL PROUST,AUTHOR, and this quote could be my personal mantra.... "I...
