Artist's Description
This interesting building as you may have gathered is at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast Queensland Australia. I had intended taking black and white bastracts but it was a beautiful autumn day and I loved the white waves against the deep blue cloudless sky. This building opened in 2006 and gained a Silver Emporis Skyscaper award. The architect was DBI Designs. The reinforced concrete balconies provide the 118 apartments with a mix of light and shade. It is 364ft high and has 34 floors including basement parking, podium, three commercial,1 recreation and the rest apartments. I was also aiming for a pure abstract but felt the small figure looking up from the balcony gave an idea of scale.
