Description
The Brisbane Powerhouse sit beside the Brisbane River in New Farm Park. It was a small powerhouse used only to provide power for the tram network. When trams were abandoned in the 19060's, it fell into disuse and was an yeysore for amny years. It is was then converted to an arts centre and houses restaurant,bars,theatre,exhibition spaces,meeting spaces,circus school,and stages more fringe type events then the Cultural Centre on South Bank. When they refurbished it, they left many of the rough walls,graffiti,machinery etc and incorporated them into the new spaces.
