This is the Blue Gum Bark in summer. It is shedding its bark and revealing delicate gold shades. Yes I have turned it on its die as I thin this series looks like abstract sand and water but that is just me. If you would like a vertical version, please just contact me and I will make it available. The previous Blue Gum Bark abstracts are exactly the same tree at a different time of year.

I was a ceramic artist for twenty five years. However, health issues forced me to retire. I am also a keen gardener and the conviction grew that nothing I could create could equal the beauty shape and form of nature. gorgeous piece! yep, this looks like a geo-thermal vent in yellowstone, the perfect combining of realism and abstraction, but with an added patina of age in the seeming crackling of the surface. well done!
Denise Clark replied:
Thank you so much R christopher. Really appreciate your comment. The patina isn't added but purely the texture of the bark which I love.I would guess the strong linear marks are from possum claws.
